What will happen at my first appointment?

Consultation with attending physician

  • You may be seen by a single physician or evaluated by one of our innovative Multidisciplinary Clinics depending on your medical problem. Your Physician has specialized knowledge in a particular area of cancer treatment (i.e., brain tumors, breast cancer, prostate cancer). After reviewing all of your information, X-rays and lab reports, performing a physical exam, your attending physician will discuss recommendations and options for treatment and answer your questions. If you are in a Multidisciplinary Clinic, for example Genitourinary, Brain, Breast, Melanoma, you will be seen by a team of attending physicians during your visit.
  • You may also meet…
    • Residents and Fellows. Residents are physicians in training who have graduated medical school and are completing specialty work under the supervision of an attending physician. Fellows are MDs who have already completed residency training, and are currently receiving additional, specialized training in areas such as medical oncology or a surgical speciality.
    • Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Students
    • Medical Residents, Interns or Students
    • Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants
