The Kimmel Cancer Center Transgenic/Knockout Mouse Facility laboratory is located on the 6th floor of the Bluemle Life Sciences Building (BLSB) with separate areas for microinjection and cryopreservation located within the building's 11th floor Laboratory Animal Facility. Our facility provides the following list of services to all KCC investigators and their staff.
Facility Services:
- Microinjection of DNA into pronucleus of fertilized eggs
- Microinjection of ES cells into blastocysts
- ES cell transfection
- Selection, expansion, preparation for injection of any targeted clones
- ES cell culture of outside lines, provided lines are tested to be mycoplasm and pathogen free
- Sperm and embryo cryopreservation
- Rederivation of any cryopreserved strains
